What to expect when using Vita-Rax
When first introducing your deer herd to Vita-Rax, they will hammer it daily, especially in the Spring and Summer months during doe lactation and antler growth. Around the 3rd year you will notice that they will back off and not hit it as much. Do not quit putting it out! This simply means that your deer are not lacking anything and because of that, they will not crave it as much. At that point they will eat just enough to keep their body in tip top shape. By keeping it out year 'round you will ensure that your fawn crop gets the best start possible. Your biggest improvement in antler size will come from bucks who have been on Vita-Rax since birth.
Things we've noticed
More yearling does with fawns, and more twin fawns. More bucks with stickers, drops, and split tines. Ave. larger antler size in yearling bucks. Antler size that typically takes 4-5 years to achieve is often reached by 3 1/2 years of age. More aggressive bucks at a younger age. This can be good and bad. Sometimes you will have to remove a buck just so he doesn't run your other bucks off your ground. On the other hand, having a good population of healthy, aggressive bucks can make them easier to call and rattle in.
Why is Vita-Rax needed?
America has been an agricultural country for over 300 years. Because of farming practices, the soil has become depleted of vitamins and trace minerals that the whitetail needs to maintain a healthy body. Vita-Rax has over 50 trace minerals, plus other fat soluble vitamins and minerals that promote bone and antler growth. A whitetail will use what it needs on it's body first, and then what is left will be used toward antler growth. A deer with Vita-Rax in his system will have plenty of vitamins and minerals for the maximum amount of antler growth possible.
